from 390 reviewsMuito boa leitura. Esse livro vai te ensinar muito sobre o enriquecimento ambiental. Bem agradável de ler.

What a great read. I'm due to get a puppy soon and this read was so helpful.

This is a must-read for anyone who has or is planning to add a puppy to their family. As with all of Sally's books, it is easy to follow, and each chapter concludes with a summary of key points. It provides essential information for raising a happy and resilient pup! I highly recommend it.

This book is absolutely incredible, I think every new Puppy parent and pet professional will really benefit from this book, it's packed full of such incredibly valuable information, highly recommend

This book is great for dog owners and dog professionals alike. I am familiar with the key concepts in the book with regard to changing fearful/reactive dog's behaviour, but there was enough I didn't know to keep me interested. As someone who works with and owns dogs who have displayed reactive behaviour, Sally's book gives clear, sound advice and will help you change the lives of your dogs for the better.

This is the book that I needed back in 2019! I had little clue about dog body language and a new puppy who was so different from my previous dogs and scared of everything. Since becoming a dog trainer and behaviour consultant, I learned how to help my dog over several years and courses, yet Sally Gutteridge has summarised this into a clear, concise and actionable guide that can help you and your reactive dog. If you follow the advice in this book with the calm and understanding attitude advised, you will get to live your best life with you dog. The work you put in, to learning about your dog is an excellent investment which will make your relationship even stronger in the future. The photos and cartoons of dog body language are an invaluable guide so that we can begin to understand how our dog is communicating with us. I use the methods in this book and will be recommending it to my clients.

This book was a game changer for me when I took on a very reactive rescue dog in 2020. The knowledge I gained from this and subsequent books by Sally Gutteridge has enabled me to give my once confused, fearful boy the secure, calm and happy home he always deserved.

This is a great book for people who live with dogs and also for students who are studying canine behaviour. It clearly explains the importance of positive training techniques, talks about the reason for behaviour changes in adolescent dogs and how to help them through this phase. It is written in plain English and has everything you need to know about adolescent dogs.

I wish I had this book on day #1 of rescuing my puppy mill mom. This would help so many people realize that you need to start out with slow quiet patience. These dogs know nothing about real world, what grass is, how to walk or use stairs, bowls, leashes anything we normally associate a dog with. I don’t think people realize what actually happens to these poor dogs & how hard it is to overcome fear in a new world. One day at a time is a good phrase but it is truth to these broken souls, but the reward is above any imagined.

I have done several courses and diploma by Sally. So informative. As a pet care professional venturing into the dog training world a marvellous read. A must read for all guardians and professionals. I really enjoyed the knowledge and tips. I look forward to the next great read

I have completed a few of Sally Gutteridge diplomas and courses, this book gives an experienced dog trainer/behaviourist as well as a regular dog guardian insight into the life of an adolescent "teen" dog.I have always felt Sally's training and ethics are backed by science and her information up to date as well as easy to follow. These apply to everyday dog ownership.I highly recommend this book to anyone getting a dog or who has younger dogs or anyone who wants to learn and understand the amazing canine.

I think this is a must have dog book for anyone who has a puppy or young dog. It helps navigate those tough times that often lead people to give up on their relationship with their young dogs without necessarily understanding why in the first place. It also has many studies and references for people who are a bit like me and what to delve into the information even more.Thoroughly enjoyed the book and will definitely recommend to friends and family who are dog owners/lovers.

A dog in its adolescent phase is my favorite to work with. I might or might not be crazy.Your words reinforce my beliefs about adolescent dogs. We get a glimpse of the dog s/he is becoming, which is incredibly promising and does not have to be frustrating.I have attached a video of a 2-year-old dog that was boarded with me because I believe his behavior outcome depicts everything you mentioned in your book. In particular, I would like to cite page 45, where using positive reinforcement provided him with "cognitive enrichment....strengthen the bond between the dog and its guardian....encourages trust and mutual respect."This will be a wonderful resource for me to direct clients to. Thank you, Sally!

The book is full of wonderful information, I certainly found it inspirational. I loved reading how Sally let Holly make her own choices, which boosted Holly's confidence. The Healthcare chapter was also excellent. Overall, a fantastic read.

Such a brilliant book! This is a must-have for anyone who has an adolescent dog…..actually even better would be anyone who has a puppy, so that they can plan and prepare for what lies ahead!Sally has a unique skill of blending ‘science and knowledge’ into a user-friendly guide, which is quite frankly hard to put down! Whether you are new to dog guardianship, are looking to further your studies or are somewhere in between then this is the book for you. Jargon-free, common sense practical advice all wrapped up in the book that your adolescent dog would most like you to read!
